At survey on board or on the plant, we bring all the (critical) installations to the surface. For each installation we look at the possible failure type.
These failures can be discovered in time. This may be by means of measurements, as well as process control, visual inspections. At every possible failure mode we critically perform the techniques that can be used to detect damage or deterioration within acceptable time.
It is at all times important to have a good look at the cost-effective use of all the possibilities and techniques. Measurement is no purpose in itself!
Not between two stools!
For each ship or plant, a plan is made to obtain the repeatability of all measurements and techniques to a maximum. For each installation, a checklist is drawn up so that each of our engineers can do the same and in the same manner.
So there is nothing between two stools!
